Mother Moments – As I Recall

I had planned to work on and finish this post last Sunday (Mother’s Day), and get it published the next day, but instead, I spent the day as a mother should on such a day, and that is with my family.  Consequently, I was thinking about just nixing this one, but I began revising and decided to go ahead and post it.  These are but some brief moments I recall of being a mother. Being a mother doesn’t happen just one day a year, so here are some of my memories and special moments of… Being a Mother As babies so sweet, beautiful, and needing…

Twenty-Five Years Ago This Month

Twenty-five years is a long time.  A quarter of a century.  Having twenty-five years with a beautiful, sweet daughter is something to appreciate.  Twenty-five years ago this month, my youngest daughter was born.   The day she was born, I had labored all night and went to the hospital the following morning.  Being my second birthing experience, I was much more at ease in knowing when to go.  By 10:35 a.m. I held my sweet baby girl in my arms.  When my oldest daughter was born, my Mom was my only family nearby.  When my youngest was born, many family members lived close to us.  My…

Easy Ways to Make a Little Cash

I have read several blog posts about making a little extra cash through various means.  My question, sometimes, though, is how do I know these suggestions (and the people making them) are legitimate?  There are several apps and programs out there saying you can earn cash or points, but I only utilize those that someone I know has used. March Madness, Am I Right?

March is the beginning of spring, and, as John Denver sings, “Sunshine, on my shoulders, makes me happy.”  I’m sitting here looking out the window by my desk, the sun is shining, the sky is blue with a few wispy white clouds, wind is blowing, trees and bushes are leafing out, the grass is turning green, and it does not seem possible that we are in the midst of social distancing, self-quarantine, and avoiding public places.  These are incongruous events it seems to me. It doesn’t seem possible that the optimism and energy that comes with the spring sun shining and the distancing of ourselves…

A Book Series Recommendation

A good series sometimes is just what you need. A friend told me about the Armand Gamache series by Louise Penny. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put them down. I debated about posting anything with all that is going on in the world right now, but then I thought, why not?  It’s the perfect time to stay in, pick up a good book, and just escape for a little while.   Book titles:  Still Life, A Fatal Grace, The Cruelest Month, A Rule Against Murder Currently Reading: The Brutal Telling Author: Louise Penny Date Read: January – Now Type of Book: Fiction Publication Dates: 2007,…
