Women’s History Month – My Thoughts

This has actually been on my mind for quite awhile, so I am glad to finally write it. In honor of Women’s History Month, I share some thoughts I have had the last year about rights for women. Society has come a long way, but there is still a fight to win. Some Context Last year, I was watching an early episode of Mrs. America* on Hulu. One scene caught me a little off guard, and I began to wonder. The scene of Schlafly taking a credit card application into her husband’s office for him to sign so that she could obtain a credit card…

The Boutique and a Book Recommendation

I have a few new posts that I am working on, but today I only want to give a quick update on our booth/boutique and recommend a book that I read this month. Soul of Quick and Jones – The New Boutique If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you know that last October we rented booth space at a local facility that would allow us to “open” our little boutique. 2021 – My Year In Review

Well, here it is the end of 2021. At first, I wasn’t going to do this, but I started looking back over the notes I made for each month of the year and thought, “why not?” It is more of a record for me, a reminder of special memories and people, closing out the old year and welcoming the new. Daffodils in Bloom – Happy Spring!

Daffodils are everywhere! So glad to see these early signs of spring. My last post was an update during our February snow and bitter cold event. In the following weeks, spring has sprung here, and I have strolled around our property enjoying the budding bushes and the array of daffodils (along with a couple of tick attackers – we have to take the bad with the good, I guess). This time last year was quite different as we all were hunkered down in our own places, not knowing the extent of the pandemic and how long it would last. Times of uncertainty, change, and fear…

Why Not Check In Today?

Just checking in with this post.  I have nothing useful, reminiscent, or crazy that I am able to share right now.  Not really inclined to do another book recommendation, although I have been reading a lot.  I haven’t really gone anywhere or done anything that is out of the routine.  Still have my sweet grandson a couple of days a week, and he keeps me sane and breaks up the routine of every other day that I do not see him.  So, I thought, why not just write a “check-in” post?  I know many are experiencing “Groundhog Day” syndrome – is that a thing?  I’ll…
