Generations of Love – One Daughter to Another

My oldest daughter was born in 1987.  We celebrated her birthday last week.  When she was born and I held that sweet baby in my arms, I never knew so much love could exist in my heart. Six weeks after her birth my maternal Grandmother passed away on Sept 28, 1987.  I found something that I wrote about the two of them at that time.  I was 25 years old. “When these two events occurred I was impressed by the course of life and how I go on each day, one at a time.  Many hours adding up to many days that turn into many…

Importance of Relationships – A Simple Note

Teaching is not as much about the subject (dare I say?) as about the relationships built with students. Genuine respect and regard for a student will foster a work ethic on behalf of the student if he/she believes the teacher is genuine.   I kept a note from my second year of teaching because of the impact of a young man named AJ*.  I see the actual note today in my writer’s notebook, and I am reminded of the importance of building those relationships with our students. Kennedy.  The European edition…

Tech Nightmare and Writer’s Block

(Okay, may not nightmare – more like a scary dream.)     General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) It all started with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and trying to make this site compliant. After working on making this site compliant, I worked on our business website to do the same.  It really wasn’t that difficult to do.  It mostly was the overwhelming amount of information and weeding out what exactly I needed to do.…

Is It My Dream to Own a Farm?

My husband and I own and live on 80 acres atop the Ozark Mountains in Winslow, Arkansas. We have lived there since 2005. Most of the following is from my early experiences living on this farm. There have been ups and downs.  Even now looking back, I still feel pretty much the same. Eary Impressions of Life on the Farm:  July 6, 2007 We currently have twelve cows, three dogs, two cats, and a variety of wild creatures that like to graze or dig. When I moved out here two years ago, it was a dream come true, or ……so I thought. The fresh air,…
